WordPress Design to improve usability and search
8Jul2009 Filed under: Web Navigation Usability Author: TGTG met a couple of Hong Kong bloggers few days ago in a local coffee shop 茶餐廳. Unlike the modern setting of Starbucks or Pacific Coffee which sell tall-size coffee at HK$30-40 each, we chat and sat under a big ceiling fan, ordering set meals which serve with milk tea, ice coffee and Hong Kong-style dishes. We paid only about the same price and spent three hours in the shop.
We started talking usability, user centric design in Hong Kong, Apple Power Mac, online marketing news and ideas about running our blogs. WordPress templates became our last focus. Some of my blogger friends would like to get some decent looking blog skins in order to make their turfs look more professional and usable. TG has recommended SmashingMagazine.com in my blog. The online magazine puts together an array of Wordpress Templates for users to choose from although some of the links do not work any more:
Just a few days ago, TG found another website which is spiced up with WordPress-concentrated content. The site also offers a number of fresh new template designs, being grouped under 2-column, 3-column, Magazine, News, Portfolio and Premium categories.
Another reason that TG recommend the site is its associated blog in which the blogger has come up with tips and tricks in using WordPress. Topic such as how to improve WordPress navigation is a good piece to read. it offers solutions to brush up your blog by indexing your pages in the search engines, using widgets and plugins to enhance user experience.

Kelikuru.com is 嘰哩咕嚕, a Chinese term basically means rumbling. The idea comes across TG's mind while watching a cartoon show on TV few years ago. We walk through our life,day by day ; speak to many people, known or unknown, year after year and we may not notice that there are so many wonderful things passing by.
