Happy Lunar New Year! TG’s first post in the Year of the Ox would be a good opportunity to give best wish and extend my gratitude to friends.
Hong Kong seems to have a sluggish start in the year of 2009, bad news keep coming over from the past few days: a one-year-old black female dog eventually died despite a three-day rescue at the very beginning of the year, famous writer Leung Yu-sang (梁羽生) and Shanghai diva Chang Loo (張露), who succumbed to organ failure, passed away, our new Legco member Lau Wong-fat drew a bad fortune stick for Hong Kong etc..
It is discouraging to see headlines as such on our newspapers everyday, not to mention the economic firestorm which dominates multiple pages in finance news section both in Chinese and English papers ever since it happened in September last year.
Like many Hong Kongeses, TG expects there will be a big change in the foreseeable future as we are told by our chief executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Mr Joseph Yam Chi-kwong that the second wave of the financial crash has yet been taken place and would be forthcoming. The crisis has just only finished the first act. History also told us that the deep impact on Hong Kong economy resulting from the 1997 financial crisis did not surface until 1998.
While having a cup of Latte in a coffee shop, TG’s friends started talking about their jobs, apartment loans and financial plans. TG took a glance of a magazine cover featuring Hong Kong movie star Andy Lau (刘德华), who was featured in a couple of magazines during the Lunar New Year 2009. Not only because he was born in the Year of the Ox, it also attributed to his fame for being diligent and energetic. To many Chinese, he is very 牛!
It’s time to stop worrying too much, but enjoy this moment, cherish what we have, being happy to be part of internet world and more importantly, stick together like the ox mascots below to work for a better tomorrow.

Kelikuru.com is 嘰哩咕嚕, a Chinese term basically means rumbling. The idea comes across TG's mind while watching a cartoon show on TV few years ago. We walk through our life, day by day ; speak to many people, known or unknown, year after year and we may not notice that there are so many wonderful things passing by. Writing a blog can literally leave my foot-prints in the internet world, help me keep the memory. At this moment, a big chunk of my life is closely aligned with user-centric design, user research, web-based environment both in Hong Kong and China. Perhaps I may not be like that tomorrow, I may be in other setting, have nothing to do with usability, but who knows what's going to happen next?
