Google and other search engines performing pages indexing and link analysis highly value inbound links to our pages from external sites. Inbound link, which is also known as back link can help Google rank search results by relevance.  There are many things to learn about link building indeed!

How to place links that is valuable to search engines concerns site managers and SEO beginners. Besides, not all links are created equalled, according to my mentors:

  • Linking out and getting links from other sites create value anyway
  • Two-way links with a popular/quality/trusted site have medium, high value
  • Internal links within a family and your own site have medium, low value
  • Links with sites that not relevant to your site have low value
  • Links with link farms or sites that has poor quality have no or low value

Bing has backlinks tracking

Microsoft’s latest Bing Search Engine enables site owners to track down the number of backlinks. Given that there’s a lot of inbound links, the webmaster tool can help filter by top-level domain, subdomain or subfolder:

The Backlinks tool gives you access to the list of URLs that links to your website. These links are also called inbound links. Often these links are from webpages that discuss your products or organization, identifying such webpages can be valuable as a means of identifying sources of promotion, feedback, or both for your website.
