We probably will see Microsoft’s Bing more often than before in Internet and advertising lands. From now on, TG may need to pay more attention to Bing Toolbox.
Two months after Microsoft officially launched its search engine – Bing, it surprised us by announcing Microsoft -Yahoo’s 10 year pact in which both parties will form an alliance in exploring the cash-rich search marketing business.
“In simple terms, Microsoft will now power Yahoo search while Yahoo will become the exclusive worldwide relationship sales force for both companies’ premium search advertisers,”
Yahoo will get 88 percent of the search-generated ad revenue from its sites in the first five years of the 10-year pact. Microsoft is to leverage Yahoo’s Panama ad-selling tool and search technology while in the meantime, it will use its AdCenter sales tool and Bing to power both sites.
Yahoo currently is the No.2 search engine and Microsoft is No,3. The venture has yet a long way to knock off Google which accounts for 65 percent share.

We walk through our life, day by day ; speak to many people, known or unknown, year after year and we may not notice that there are so many wonderful things passing by. Writing a blog can literally leave my foot-prints in the internet world, help me keep the memory. At this moment, a big chunk of my life is closely aligned with user-centric design, user research, web-based environment both in Hong Kong and China. Perhaps I may not be like that tomorrow, I may be in other setting, have nothing to do with usability, but who knows what's going to happen next?
