In a couple of conversation with SEO experts who are based in China, TG was lucky enough to learn a few tips and tricks in site optimization. They are definitely quick starters for anyone who are interested in this field.

Specifiy top-level domain (.com/.cn/.info)
- Consider buying different domain names for each targeted language or niche in your own market. Some regional-based search engines or indexes will only list sites that are registered in their own country code
- Register for a country’s top-level domain if your primary market is local in nature. For example, use .cn in China, which will result in a higher ranking by Google and other search engines. Using .com would not get as much benefit as a country-specific top-level domain (TLD)
Select local hosting
- Consider a host that supports the technology to be used in the website
- Google would also index your pages and service areas by checking your hosting location. It gives sites a relevancy boost if they are hosted in the same location as the local search market
Keyword and Meta Descriptions
- Find the keywod targeted for your site and customers and develop group themes of keywords that reflect the different sections of your site
- Write a description for the meta description tag. Make sure your description is unique to each page
- Meta description is recommended to be limited to 158 words. This part of text outweights its corresponding content on the page. See more details in Texts used in META description
Use of page title and tag
- Select your words for each page in your page title tags. Make sure they are unique to each page
- Use only one H1 header per page, H2, H3 for subheaders when necessary
- See more details in page title and tag
Inbound link copy
- Avoid using “more info”, “click here”, ” read more” as they mean nothing to the search engines
- Consider using meaningful copy or keyworks in the link text pointing to your site
Outbound link copy
- Use the right keywords to create outbound links if possible
Revelancy of inbound and outbound links
- ”LInk Relevancy” or “Contextual Revelant” are also key query ranking factor. Consider the information is on a certain theme or topic, subject while linking to each other
- Random site links do not convey the same authority as links from sites that are popular and thematically related
Ensure site stability and usability
- Google gives less weights on those sites/pages which have 500, 404 or DNS Errors
- “Content is King” does not change, the better your content, the more quality score you will get from Google, which dominates the search marketing currently
