Floating windows are used in many scenarios. According to PC Magazine encyclopedia, floating window is
An on-screen window that can be dragged to any position within the application or even outside the main application window. Floating windows are common in graphics applications and allow tools to be moved closer to the image workspaces. They are also common in software development applications. Contrast with docked window.
It is argued that floating window is a replacement of pop-up window, which has caused nusiances to users often times. With floating window, users manage to find additional information and functions at their fingertips. It also save precious space and keep the user on the same window.
Facebook users can use it to share a link with a friend. WordPress uses to display a snapshot of its links.

Kelikuru.com is 嘰哩咕嚕, a Chinese term basically means rumbling. The idea comes across TG's mind while watching a cartoon show on TV few years ago. We walk through our life, day by day ; speak to many people, known or unknown, year after year and we may not notice that there are so many wonderful things passing by. Writing a blog can literally leave my foot-prints in the internet world, help me keep the memory. At this moment, a big chunk of my life is closely aligned with user-centric design, user research, web-based environment both in Hong Kong and China. Perhaps I may not be like that tomorrow, I may be in other setting, have nothing to do with usability, but who knows what's going to happen next?
