Frankly TG does not fully utilize Google Friend Connect tools to make my blog more “social”. Ever since June this year, I wrote a post: Get hooked up with Google Friend Connect and began to use its basic function- add the members gadget. It spices up my blog but TG has not spent enough time to explore its function as a social networking enabler.
The search giant has updated its social networking tool to help site owners spring up their community channels. New tools include a targeted AdSense advertisement and newsletter composer. TG is interested in the newsletter editor tool which can create customized news feed to a selected group of google friends.
Blog or site visitors can sign up for the newsletter when they sign up or site managers can create a newsletter gadget and post it on your own site. The newsletter editor has a simple-to-use function to choose recipients – send to all subscribers or only subscribers who match certain criteria.
In addition to the content to be provided , site managers can also append recent social activity from their site’s members. This includes recent members who have joined, recent member comments, and more. The newsletter tools also has a preview before sending newsletter.
Google Friend Connect newsletter tool will be of useful to those site managers who want to personalize their services to users while they don’t have enough resources to outsource their work to digital agencies.

Kelikuru.com is 嘰哩咕嚕, a Chinese term basically means rumbling. The idea comes across TG's mind while watching a cartoon show on TV few years ago. We walk through our life, day by day ; speak to many people, known or unknown, year after year and we may not notice that there are so many wonderful things passing by. Writing a blog can literally leave my foot-prints in the internet world, help me keep the memory. At this moment, a big chunk of my life is closely aligned with user-centric design, user research, web-based environment both in Hong Kong and China. Perhaps I may not be like that tomorrow, I may be in other setting, have nothing to do with usability, but who knows what's going to happen next?
