China leading search engine Baidu (百度) agreed to power up its English search capability by collaborating with Microsoft’s Bing.
The news came on Monday through Baidu’s email in which it said the deal aimed at directing English searches from Baidu to Microsoft’s Bing, which would deliver the results back to Baidu’s Web pages.
It is said that the plan will be launched this year. Baidu currently owns about 75 – 85 percent of the Chinese search market, Microsoft is expected to increase its impact in China search market.
Baidu spokeman said there is an increasing demand in China for English search queries – 10 million searches each day are performed in English. With Microsoft Bing’s search technology, Baidu would provide better services to its users.

In 2009, Microsoft struck another deal with Yahoo in which the demising portal and search engine would outsearch its search listings and search advertising on its pages to Bing . The deal gives Microsoft a cut of Yahoo’s search-related revenue.
